The Parish of St George Hanworth is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all in our community, but particularly the young and the vulnerable adults.

- has adopted the House of Bishops’ ‘Promoting a Safer Church; safeguarding policy statement’ to guide and inform their policies and procedures, passed at a meeting of the PCC on 7 January 2019 (signed minutes are available).
- has appointed a Parish Safeguarding Officer (Mrs Jacqualine Dimmer)
- has appointed a Parish Safer Recruitment Officer (Mr Ben Fowler)
- ensures all staff and volunteers working with children and vulnerable adults have a Disclosure & Barring Service check at least once every three years.
- maintains an up-to-date register of the checks undertaken above.
- commits to raising awareness of safeguarding and child protection issues through regular, professionally provided, training of office holders.
- ensures all members of the parish community are aware of their responsibilities to protect children and vulnerable adults, including how to report any concerns.
